Does the Kindle DX (graphite) 3G service require a sim card?

I am thinking about getting a kindle dx graphite, mainly to read pdf documents, books, and such. The screen on the kindle 2 is a little too small for my taste. Anyway to use the free 3G with the kindle DX would it require me to put in a sim card since it is gsm technology? It would kinda suck to take out the sim from my phone back and fourth. Would a prepaid sim card work? Thank YOu

No, it doesn’t require a sim card. The Kindle DX is bundled with the Whispernet service, which is provided by AT&T for Amazon’s Kindle. It doesn’t need any sim card, but it comes with free 3G service.
