Can you give a Kindle Reader as a gift to someone who doesn’t own a comptuer?

I want to get one for my dad, but he doesn’t have a computer so therefore has no Amazon account to order books. Just wondering how that would work. Could he order through my accnt, etc. Tried contacting Amazon but they won’t respond.
